Bizee Sells Registered Agent Service. Pennsylvania Does Not Have Registered Agents.

Who wrote this and why: Pennsylvania Registered Agent.co, because we sell the competing service at $99 a year and want your business. Bizee's numbers are their own published ones as of July 2026. We report them straight, including the parts that make Bizee look good, because a comparison that only flatters the author is worthless to the reader.

The Bundle Deserves Its Reputation

Bizee, formerly Incfile, puts free agent coverage inside its formation packages, three months to twelve depending on which tier you buy. That is real money not spent, in the year when a new company has none. Forming through Bizee regardless? Then take the free months; there is no reason not to. Nothing on this page argues otherwise.

Then $149, and a Vocabulary Problem

When the bundled term ends, standalone coverage runs $149 a year. Fifty dollars over ours, annually, forever, which is a modest gap and not the main thing we want to raise.

The main thing is what the product is called.

Under 15 Pa.C.S. § 109 a Pennsylvania business may name a Commercial Registered Office Provider in lieu of giving an address of its own. That is the product. Not an agent, because Pennsylvania does not have those. A contracted stand-in for the address line.

This is not pedantry and it is not a knock on Bizee specifically. Every national brand runs one set of registered agent copy across fifty states, and forty-nine of those states have registered agents. Pennsylvania has a registered office, and the paid substitute is a CROP. The word choice is a symptom worth noticing: it tells you the Pennsylvania page was written from a template rather than from Title 15.

Why the Distinction Costs You Something Real

Three consequences, all practical.

The address rules are different. A registered office must be a street or rural route address in the Commonwealth. A PO box alone gets a filing refused. The one exception is naming a provider in lieu of an address entirely, which is exactly what a CROP arrangement does.

The obligation is on the entity, not on a person. Nobody is appointed. An address is maintained. That is why the switching form is called a statement of change of registered office and not a change of agent.

Templated Pennsylvania copy tends to be old copy. The state replaced its decennial report with an annual one starting in 2025: $7, filed between January 1 and September 30, first report due the calendar year after you register. Material written before that change and never revisited will describe a Pennsylvania that no longer exists. Worth checking whichever provider you land on.

How a Pennsylvania Business Switches Away From Bizee

The whole thing is five dollars. Steps:

1. Contract the replacement. A provider, or your own Pennsylvania street address if you have one to publish. Either way you need the exact address before you start.
2. Get the change statement. It is titled Statement of Change of Registered Office, and the form number carries four statute sections because one document serves corporations, nonprofits, limited partnerships, and LLCs. Use the LLC section.
3. Fill in both offices. Old one out, new one in, same page, same filing. Pennsylvania requires the office to be maintained continuously, so the form is built to make a gap impossible; there is no version of it that removes Bizee and stops there.
4. File and pay $5. Pennsylvania's Department of State takes it on paper or through the online filing service.
5. Confirm, then cancel. The record has to show the new office before you touch the Bizee account. Until it does, they are still where a summons would go.

Best time to do this: inside the free window, while there is no billing to unwind and no deadline in sight.
